I2UD COMPLETES MUNICIPAL DEVELOPMENT PLANS IN BELIZE In July 2014 I2UD completed an 18-month World Bank financed project to support the drafting of municipal development plans for seven municipalities in Belize. An inter-disciplinary team from the Institute supported Local Working Planning Groups (LPWGs) in the municipalities of Belmopan, Benque Viejo del Carmen, Corozal, Dangriga, Orange Walk, Punta Gorda and San Ignacio/Santa Elena to address existing urban conditions as well as future growth. CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION						INTERNATIONAL URBAN AGENDA
I2UD’s Climate Change Adaptation and Resiliency Framework I2UD recently published its operational framework for resiliency that focuses on adapting and lessening the negative impacts of climate change in low-income communities.						I2UD set to attend first global conference in preparation for Habitat III We’re traveling to New York from September 17th – 18th for UN-Habitat’s first Prepatory Committee leading to Habitat III.
I2UD to work on Climate Change Adaptation in Belize Jim Kostaris in discussion with the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy to lead research project on alternative resilience strategies.						UCLG’s Launches “Basic Services for All in an Urbanizing World,” Third Global Report on Local Democracy and Decentralization (Gold III) Recently published report highlights the critical role of sub-national governments in basic service provision and the post-2015 development agenda.
Cotonou and Ausha prepare to build their resilience Two African cities prepare their applications to the 100 Resilient Cities Challenge with I2UD.						I2UD contributes to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) I2UD issues a statement at the first ever ECOSOC Integration Segment on the theme of sustainable urbanization.

Research Associate Carolina Morgan interns with developer in historic district of Panama City After leaving I2UD to start her masters at MIT in urban planning and real estate development last fall, research associate Carolina Morgan shares her recent experience interning with a major developer in Casco, Panama.						Upcoming Conference “Urban Renewal Projects – from design to city transformation projects” John Driscoll to speak on a panel at the 2 day conference in Tirana, Albania. Mona Serageldin to speak on panel discussion at Boston University’s Conference, “The Future is Now: Urban Asia in the 21st Century.” A one-day conference at BU exploring how Asia’s cities are reshaping concepts of urban development.
