Upcoming Conference: “Urban Renewal Projects – from design to city transformation projects” in Tirana, Albania

John Driscoll will represent I2UD on a panel at the “Urban Renewal Projects – from design to city transformation projects” in Tirana, Albania from September 29 to 30th. The two-day event supported by the USAID Planning and Local Governance Program (PLGP) will include participation of local, regional and international experts. International and regional experts will share their experience and/or concrete projects they have undertaken as catalytic, transformative projects for the city. The themes to be discussed include waterfront development, city centers/squares and main boulevard regeneration, neighborhood public space, brownfield development and special public spaces (e.g. cemetery, cultural heritage structures/sites, etc.).

The conference is part of Tirana Architecture Weeks 2014, “[En]visioning Future Cities” organized by POLIS University. Tirana Architecture Weeks is an intensive month full of public events and performances, debates and forums, conferences and workshops, exhibitions and international competitions focused on increasing the public’s interest in architecture, art and design.
