Senior Associate – Job Application

The Institute for International Urban Development, a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit corporation established in 2005, seeks application for the position of Senior Associate. The Institute’s activities include:
  • Promoting sustainable urban and regional development.
  • Conducting applied research to identify emerging trends in the management of urban growth and regional development and to document best practices.
  • Offering capacity building programs to enhance the planning and managerial skills of public officials, local NGOs and community leaders in developing countries and emerging economies.
  • Assisting educational institutions in the development of their research and teaching activities. In addition, the Institute offers internships to advanced planning students and young professionals interested in an international public service career.
Applicants should have an advanced degree in planning or a related field; a minimum of ten years of professional experience, including responsible field experience; and a specialization in one of the following areas: strategic planning; urban economics; environmental and climate change adaptation; municipal finance. In addition to professional work, approximately 30% of the new Senior Associate time will be spent on management and development activities, including proposal writing.
