In response to requests for assistance from the Government of Romania on redefining its approach to metropolitan development and spatial and metropolitan governance as well as the Romanian Chief Architects Association on identifying different approaches to metropolitan development, I2UD worked the Municipality of Ploiesti and the association to review planning approaches in Romania, Europe and the United States, and relevant best practices for Romania. This work drew upon previous technical assistance provided to the Municipality of Oradea and surrounding communes on metropolitan governance.
