Linda Shi – Research Associate, on leave

Linda Shi is an urban environmental planner. At the Institute, she conducts research and analysis, particularly on issues related to water and environmental infrastructure, and is helping to build the Institute’s new initiative on urban planning work with respect to climate change adaptation.
Her professional experience includes working in Bangkok, Thailand, implementing the USAID Environmental Cooperation-Asia (ECO-Asia) regional program on water and sanitation, and for the Rocky Mountain Institute in Snowmass, Colorado, on the environmental regeneration of industrial river corridors.
Her academic training includes a master’s in urban planning from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, a master’s in environmental management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, and a bachelor’s of art from Yale University. She has worked on environmental and planning projects in Peru, West Africa, China, Spain, and Southeast Asia, and is proficient in Chinese and Spanish.
She is currently on research leave as a PhD candidate in urban planning at MIT.
