Prasanna Rajasekaran – Co-Op Intern

B.A. Candidate (Northeastern University)

Prasanna Rajasekaran is a 6-month co-op at the Institute. As an undergraduate at Northeastern University, he studies Economics with minors in Social Entrepreneurship, International Affairs, and English.

Prasanna’s last co-op was as a research assistant at the Pioneer Institute, where he wrote about issues surrounding the Massachusetts State Lottery. Prior to that, he was an intellectual property co-op at the law firm Foley Hoag. At Northeastern, Prasanna is the Managing Editor of the Northeastern University Political Review and the Political Education Coordinator for NU Students Against Institutional Discrimination.

Prasanna has also earned two Summer Independent Research Fellowships through Northeastern’s University Scholars Program. The first resulted in a 7-episode podcast about race and drugs in America, which aired on a local radio station. The second, currently ongoing, explores the organizing dynamics of the Boston Black Panther chapter. Along with his research experience, Prasanna brings to i2ud knowledge in international development. He has studied microfinance in the Dominican Republic and Arabic language and culture in Oman.

Prasanna has a passion for social and economic justice, both domestically and abroad. He hopes to dedicate his career to furthering these ends.
